Three Honda Models Honored for Retaining their Initial Value

Recently, Honda reported that three models were recipients of 2018 Edmunds Best Retained Value Awards. The Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V all took top honors in their respective segments, leading their competitors with the highest projected residual value after five years of ownership.

Higher residual values help to lower your long-term vehicle ownership expenses because you enjoy more equity in your vehicle when you decide to go ahead and sell or trade-in your vehicle. Thus you wind up with more money in your pocket at the end of your ownership period, which is never a bad thing.

The awards are intended to accentuate the overall value of ownership for auto buyers in an attempt to guide them into looking at factors that go beyond a vehicle's initial purchase price and considering how five-year residual value can benefit them in the long term.

In a Honda press release, Avi Steinlauf, Chef Executive Officer at Edmunds, declared, "Buying a new car is a huge financial decision, and our 2018 Edmunds Best Retained Value Awards are designed to help shoppers discover the brands and vehicles that can help them get the most out of their investment. This year's winners underscore a commitment to quality and reliability, and are good bets to hold their value over the course of ownership."

At Penske Honda Chula Vista, we're honored to be able to assist our customers from the San Diego, El Cajon, and National City areas.
